Research Proposal draft
Order Description
Overview/Description:
The final project for NSG6101 consists of the development of a novel research proposal specific to your role specialization. The project must include an intervention
appropriate to nursing practice and consistent with your MSN role option. An alternative to the above includes the selection of a specialty organization to focus
research proposals based on the priorities of that organization. Examples of these organizations could include (but are not limited to): Sigma Theta Tau International
American Nurses Foundation Oncology Nursing Society Association of Nurses in AIDS Care American Psychiatric Nursing Association American Association of Critical
Care Nurses National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners National League For Nursing etc.
References no more of 5 years.
This is the research I selected and was approved by my teacher:
Problem Statement
Like other diseases Diabetes type 2 requires appropriate management lest the patient succumbs to the health problem. Other than prescribed medication physical
exercises can go a long way in regulating blood glucose levels of older diabetic adults.
Research Purpose
The research aims at investigating the effectiveness of physical exercises in managing Diabetes type 2 among older patients.
Research Questions
What types of physical exercises can older diabetic adults engage in to manage their blood glucose (BG) levels?
What is the impact of regular exercises on the blood glucose level of diabetes type 2 patients?
This is the criteria for the research proposal draft::
1) Introduction(1 page)
a) Background and Significance of Problem
b) Statement of the Problem and Purpose of the Study
2) Literature Review(5 pages)
a) Summary of the Evidence for the Proposed Study
3) Research Question Hypothesis and Variables with Operational Definitions(2 pages)
4) Theoretical Framework(1 page)
a) Overview and Guiding Propositions(s) Described in Theory
b) Application of Theory to Your Studys/Projects Focus
5) Methodology(4 pages that will be divided as commented in each section bellow)

d) e) f) and g) will be 2 pages
d) Extraneous Variables (and plan for how controlled).
e) Instruments: Description validity and reliability estimates which have been performed (on a pre-established measure). Include plans for testing validity and
reliability of generating your own instrument(s).
